EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF B-BBEE CERTIFICATES AND VERIFICATION REPORTS FOR 2018

By Andile Tlhoaele

28 January 2018

The BEE Act requires that Measured Entities that are governed by the ICT Sector Code must submit on an annual basis their B-BBEE Certificate, relevant B-BBEE verification reports and B-BBEE Sworn Affidavits to the B-BBEE ICT Sector Council. The Verification Agencies (on behalf of the Measured Entities) were required to submit all ICT Sector verification reports for 2018 by 25 January 2019. Many failed to do so.

Where to Submit

Measured Entities’ B-BBEE Verification Agencies can submit this information to the B-BBEE ICT Sector Council on their behalf to ensure compliance with this obligation in terms of the Act. Entities are reminded that this submission is mandatory.

What to Submit

The Council has begun the development of the 2018 B-BBEE Annual Monitoring Report in January 2019 as required by the Act and is therefore requesting all Verification Agencies to submit B-BBEE Reports and Certificates on behalf of all entities measured under the B-BBEE ICT Scorecard for the 2018 period. If not already submitted, it is now URGENT that action be taken.

When to Submit

The verification reports, certificates and sworn affidavits should be submitted to the Council on or before the extended deadline of 1 February 2019. Please ensure that both documents for each measured entity are clear and complete, to minimize queries during data capture.

How to Submit

In order to simplify sending verification reports to the Council, please download the free WeTransfer app (wetransfer.com), available from Apple and Google. Open the app and upload files (up to 2GB). You can email the link from within the app or copy the URL and paste it into an email addressed to m.adrian.schofield@gmail.com with VA Reports in the subject line. The link is secure as it is known only to the sender and the receiver and the files will be deleted from the app after 7 days. If you do not receive an acknowledgement of receipt, please notify Councilor Schofield.
